How to adjust thumbnail size in Windows 7

Windows displays thumbnails of the opened windows in the taskbar if the mouse is hovering over it.
Unfortunately, the size is too small in case of high screen resolutions.A value in the registry regulates the size of the displayed thumbnails.
The size of the thumbnail preview can be changed as follows.
Enter ‘regedit’ in the input field of the start menu and press Enter.
Then confirm the request of the user account control with ‘Yes’ and navigate to ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Taskband’ key.

Right click on the right part of the window and open ‘Edit |New | DWORD value’.
Enter ‘MinThumbSizePx’ as the description and press Enter. For editing, double click the new entry, select the‘Decimal’ option as the ‘base’ and enter the desired picture size in pixels in ‘Value’. However, you must bear in mind that too large thumbnails slow down the system and can make the display unclear. A value of upto 200 pixels is suitable instead on the standard 96 pixels, depending on the screen resolution. Confirm your change with ‘OK’ and close the registry. The adjusted size is immediately visible after logging on the system again.
